You enter a relationship thinking you can mold them into the person you want them to be and that your love will make them change. Unfortunately there is little anyone can do to change a person until that person decides on their own that they want to change. A disrespectful person will most likely stay disrespectful, an addict will often stay an addict, a cheater will often stay a cheater until THEY decide to change. You can encourage someone to make better choices, support them and pray for them, but it is a mistake to think your love alone will change them. When you understand this, you will no longer ignore bad behaviors and naively wait around for a change that never happens.
