Trust the Bible
The Bible is the Living Word of God. This means it is as relevant currently as it was in the time it was written. It still speaks to our concerns and issues today and provides great insight, wisdom and truth for how to live our lives. It is full of hope-filled promises from the one true God and is about how much He loves us and will take care of us if we call on Him.
One of the most common concerns many people have with the Bible, is about it’s accuracy. Some other faiths assert that too much time has passed for something unreliable to not have been added. But let me ask you this: How many people would it take flipping a quarter before one person hits heads 30 times in a row? The answer is roughly a billion people! Now, what does this have to do with the reliability of the Bible? Well, the Bible is able to be trusted because there are 30 recorded prophecies of the birth, the death, and the resurrection of Jesus that have ALL come true. Having 30 prophecies become reality would be like someone landing heads 30 times in a row. Additionally, using that same quarter and keeping in mind it takes roughly a billion people flipping coins to get 30 heads in a row, how many people would it take flipping a quarter before one person hit heads 245 times in a row? The number 245 is significant because that is a conservative estimate of the number of biblical prophecies that have come true!
“Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” I Peter 1:20-21
