UNDERSTANDING YOUR application .

General entry requirements
Generally you ' re expected to have at least two to three A levels but equivalent qualifications such as BTEC and T levels are accepted too . Please refer to the commonly accepted qualifications list below . In addition , we also require you to have achieved three GCSEs , grades C / 4 or above , including English and Mathematics . However , every candidate is assessed on individual merit and in line with our commitments to fair admissions .
Specific course entry requirements
Please note that for some courses there may be additional requirements such as specific subjects , interviews or portfolios . Detailed entry requirements for specific courses are listed on the relevant pages in this prospectus and online .

Commonly accepted qualifications
International students
The University accepts a range of international qualifications To find out the qualification requirements for your country , visit port . ac . uk / your-country International College Portsmouth ( ICP ) is an Associate College of the University of Portsmouth . International students who need additional English language or academic preparation to study at the University can apply to ICP , where they will receive language and academic support for entry onto their course . You will need a sufficient level of English for your chosen course . To demonstrate this , you may need to take an English language test and send us your results .
