Business and Human Resource
Management
BA (Hons)
Why study this course?
Business and Human Resource Management at Keele encourages students
to think critically about the place of people in management and enterprise.
You will engage with theoretical debates about management to understand
contemporary business issues and cases.
This fusion of theoretical and practical studies helps students to develop
critical problem solving and decision-making skills which enhances their
employability in graduate jobs. During your studies, you will examine
how organisations function within their wider political and economic
environment; how they develop and deploy management and plan
strategies to address future goals. The programme explores the formal
and informal ways of regulating the employment relationship in the
public, private and voluntary sectors. You also have the opportunity to
take a placement year between years two and three of your studies.
What will this mean for my future?
Your skills and in-depth understanding of management and employment
issues will prepare you for a variety of specialist human resource
management positions in training and development, equality and
diversity, recruitment and selection or employment relations. This is
recognised by the approval of the course by the Chartered Institute of
Personnel and Development (CIPD). You will gain advanced membership
status on successful completion of your studies. In addition, the broad
