32 | Our Facilities Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Our large and multi-faceted Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences draws on our progressive heritage by seeking to ensure that we respond effectively to the needs of contemporary society, by: • Preparing our students for a future of creative and productive teamwork in the world of work and beyond. • Seeking to ensure that they will continue to be responsible, engaged citizens of the world. • Building on our reputation for an outstanding student experience and for excellent, transformative research so that we can enhance further the quality, quantity and diversity of students at all levels across the extensive breadth of our educational provision. Promoting cutting-edge studies, our five Schools bring together theoretically innovative work with highly relevant applications to the real world. Each School offers a range of critical perspectives on various aspects of economic, social and cultural life, thereby illuminating what it means to be human in a world that is constantly undergoing disruptive transformation. Our Language Centre offers a wide range of support in academic English and provides study opportunities in many other modern languages. In summer 2019, Keele Business School moved in to a new multi- million pound facility which houses both the Business School and state- of-the-art facilities for business collaboration and incubation in a Smart Innovation Hub. Our world-class research informs our teaching and explores many dimensions of theory, policy and practice. Keele’s Institute for Social Inclusion was established in 2018, to seek to identify, explain and overcome specific social, economic and cultural obstacles to social inclusion, in order to help people realise their full potential on a local, national and global scale.
