Our degree aims to produce reflective,
competent practitioners, confident at
addressing individual needs and societal
disadvantage.
You will explore social issues such as
diversity, rights, justice, ethics and the law.
During the course, you will experience
doing social work with a diverse range of
adults and children, learning to complete
assessments, care plans and reviews and
considering complex life challenges and
ways to enhance wellbeing.
You will develop the knowledge and skills to
make a difference, gaining vital experience
through both university and practice settings
to prepare you for a rewarding and challenging
career. You will be introduced to both local
and global issues of concern to social
workers and develop skills in cultural
competence.
The social work programme is led by
research active and practice experienced
academic staff, supplemented by social
work practitioners, service users and other
professionals. The course is approved by
Social Work England and, upon qualification,
you will be able to register as a professional
social worker in England.
