Law | 217 Law with Business LLB (Hons) Why study this course? This interdisciplinary law degree will equip you with commercial acumen that will enable you to understand legal requirements and implications that businesses of a variety of sizes and sectors might face. This innovative pathway enables students to study all the law modules needed for an LLB alongside a bespoke route in business which will provide a secure grounding in the intellectual traditions and perspectives that underpin business as a distinctive discipline. You will learn the key principles and doctrines underlying English, European and International law and develop an understanding of its social, political, historical and comparative contexts. You will have the opportunity to develop your practical experience by participating in mooting (practising oral arguments), client interviewing, and volunteering as a Community Legal Companion as part of our innovative CLOCK programme. You will develop a well-informed approach to problem solving which will be invaluable to a career in law or business. What will this mean for my future? This programme is accredited by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Bar Standards Board and is a qualifying law degree, offering the current professional exemptions you need to train to practise as a solicitor or barrister, but with an enhanced understanding of commercial and business needs. It will also open up a wide range of other possible careers, especially in business and finance. After further study and/or training you might work as a licensed conveyancer, chartered accountant or tax advisor, for example.
