Fundamentals of Nursing Practice
This course provides an introduction to the fundamentals of nursing practice . Students will utilize the nursing process as a framework to apply nursing knowledge , diagnoses , interventions , and outcomes to individuals . Course concepts are grounded in evidencebased practice to promote , maintain , and restore health . Topics related to safety , oxygenation , ventilation , circulation , perfusion , ingestion , digestion , absorption , elimination , urinary , movement , sensory input and the nurse patient relationship and the roles of the professional nurse are explored . Emphasis is placed on applying knowledge and practicing skills in the nursing skills lab , simulation lab , and clinical setting .

Health Assessment in Nursing
This course is designed to develop health assessment skills across the lifespan . Emphasis is placed on the development of skills essential for using health and physical examination as tools for nursing assessment . Normal and abnormal history and physical assessment findings are differentiated . Biological , psychosocial , spiritual and cultural dimensions of the individual are explored . Health promotion strategies including risk factor reduction as they relate to the adoption of healthy lifestyles are identified . Opportunities are provided to practice health assessment .
