Gwynedd Mercy University 2024-2025 Undergraduate Catalog
• Provide an essay explaining the choice of nursing as a profession . Students with 45 transferable credits , who meet the BSN admissions requirements , may begin their studies in the summer semester and earn a BSN in 2½ years . Students will take 14 credits during the summer semester and begin the fall semester as a Junior . Requirements for this program include :
• Meet university admission requirements
• Earn a minimum GPA of 3.5 .
• Provide an essay explaining the choice of nursing as a profession . ( as part of the application )
• Submit transcripts from all college ( s ) attended .
• All science courses ( e . g ., Anatomy and Physiology I and II , Microbiology , and Chemistry ), are completed with a grade of " C +" or higher , if applicable .
• Chemistry courses taken outside Gwynedd Mercy University will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis .
• All science courses are required to include a “ hands-on ” lab experience . Virtual labs for the required sciences are not transferable .
• Science courses must have been successfully completed within the previous 7years .
• Earn a minimum grade of " C +" in the Nutrition course , taught by a Registered Dietician .
Internal Transfer Criteria
For students transferring to the BSN Program from the Health Studies or another major within Gwynedd Mercy University :
• Earn a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 .
• In addition to meeting general university requirements , all science courses ( i . e ., Anatomy and Physiology I and II , Microbiology , and Chemistry ), are completed with a grade of " C +" or higher , if applicable .
• Transfer students who have not satisfied the Chemistry course requirement must take Chemistry 111 with lab at Gwynedd Mercy University . Chemistry courses taken outside GMercyU will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis .
• All science courses are required to include a “ hands-on ” lab experience . Virtual labs for the required sciences are not transferable .
• Science courses must have been successfully completed within the previous 7years .

• Health Studies or other majors seeking admission to the BSN program who have between a 2.80and 2.99 cumulative GPA must have earned at least a “ C +” in all science and math pre-req courses and earn a 62 % ( proficiency ) or greater score on the TEAS .
Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing ; Weekend Bachelor of Science in Nursing : The Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Weekend BSN programs at Gwynedd Mercy University are designed for students who hold a bachelor ’ s degree in another field . To be considered for admission to these second-degree bachelor ’ s programs , you must provide the following :
• Completed Online Application
• Official transcripts from high school and all colleges or universities attended , including proof of receipt of a bachelor ’ s degree from an accredited college or university
• Applicants are expected to have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher in their first bachelor ' s degree , and earned B ’ s or better in their science courses .
• Applicants also must provide proof of successful completion of required pre requisite courses
