Respiratory Pathophysiology This course will continue the work of the respiratory and cardiac physiology course ( RC 233 ) and provide a detailed account of abnormalities associated with the cardiopulmonary system . Selected cardio-respiratory diseases and conditions will be covered in considerable detail . It will specifically address the : definition , etiology , clinical manifestations , pathology , radiographic , diagnostic and laboratory findings , prevention , prognosis and treatment of common cardiorespiratory diseases and conditions . Emphasis will be placed on evidence-based medicine ( including the American Association for Respiratory Care ' s Clinical Pratice Guidelines ), care plans and respiratory protocols .

Respiratory Seminar- Capstone
Discussion and presentation of professional issues and topics related to the field of respiratory care . Emphasis will be placed on preparing students for employment as well as preparation for the credentialing process . Students will engage in the job selection process , inclusive of a personal needs assessments , resume writing , and interviewing skills . Additionally , extensive coverage of computerized clinical simulations and case studies will be addressed and critical thinking and independent decision making skills will be highlighted .
