This course will address advanced topics in critical care medicine . It will specifically cover advanced topics in airway care and management , hemodynamic monitoring and all phases of mechanical ventilation , to include : pneumatic , electric , microprocessor , fluidic , high frequency , and noninvasive ventilators .

This course will address advanced topics in the area of advanced cardiology and a variety of topics including cardiopulmonary exercise testing , advanced pulmonary diagnostics , disaster medicine and management , home care and pulmonary rehabilitation .

Respiratory Research
This course will address the principles and practice of conducting pulmonary research . The course will help the student identify , review and intelligently describe the results of selected cardiopulmonary journals . The student will become familiar with various types of research , the application process through the IRB and both qualitative and quantitative data analysis . The course will culminate with the student working in a group setting to devise , conduct and present a comprehensive research project worthy of publication .
