In terms of human society on planet Earth , sustainability is the ability of humans to survive in their surrounding environment . This course provides an overview of the considerations and problems of sustainability in our modern society . Sustainability and resilience will be studied in terms of science , society , economics , morality , and culture . Students will be required to use critical thinking in a dynamic systems context to discuss the diverse aspects of sustainability .
