A copy of the completed Child Abuse History Clearance Form should be sent to the Radiation Therapy Program Director prior to the start of clinical .
Covid-19 vaccination : Students are required to follow university policy regarding Covid-19 vaccination . Additionally , all students are required to provide documentation of Covid-19 vaccination before attending clinical .
Drug Screening : All students must provide evidence of a negative drug screening prior to clinical placement . Some clinical facilities may require additional drug screening be completed no sooner than 30 days prior to the start of the rotation . NOTE : random screening may be done on campus , and it will be at the student ’ s expense .
Flu Shot : All students are required to be immunized against the flu by the end of October . Failure to comply with this requirement will result in removal from the clinical site and therefore unable to continue in the program . All students must receive an annual flu shot .
Health Insurance Coverage : Students must carry health insurance while in the Radiation Therapy Program . This health insurance can be obtained through the University if the student does not have personal coverage . Confirmation of health insurance coverage must be submitted to the university by the beginning of each academic year .
Tuberculosis Screening : All students must present yearly results from a tuberculosis screening to participate in clinical education . A baseline two-step PPD skin test is required . Students who can document an initial two-step PPD will be required to have a yearly single-step PPD . Information on PPD screening is listed on the Health Form . Students are responsible for the cost of the screening .
Note : Program requires additional fee of $ 250.00 paid to Trajecsys which is-billed with RTS 204 Clinical education .
Professional Disposition and Conduct : Gwynedd Mercy University operates as a learning community under specific and explicit norms of behavior . These standards have , as their purpose , the desire to maintain respect for the rights of individuals , respect for freedom of thought and expression , and fair and equitable treatment of all . The following Code of Student Conduct was established to support these goals . These standards are to be followed at all University functions on or off campus . In general , each standard is intended to bring benefit to others and to confront those behaviors that may cause physical or psychological harm to another . The standards assume that individual members of the Gwynedd Mercy University community value loyalty , truthfulness , and contractual fidelity . The student conduct process at Gwynedd Mercy University is not intended to punish students ; rather , it exists to protect the interests of the community and to challenge those whose behavior is not in accordance with our policies . Sanctions are intended to challenge students ’ moral and ethical decisionmaking and to help them bring their behavior into accord with our community expectations . When a student is unable to conform to their behavior to the community ’ s expectations , the student conduct process may determine that the student should no longer share in the privilege of participating in this community . Authority for the enforcement of University regulations and policy rests with the Vice President for Enrollment and Student Services , who may designate as Administrative Hearing Officers other members of the University community . Gwynedd Mercy University students are responsible for knowing the information , policies and procedures outlined in this document .
