Experiential Learning : Courses in the BSW program include shadowing experiences and field research in the sophomore and junior year and a 400-hour field experience in the senior year . Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from off campus experiential learning opportunities
Non-Academic Criteria for Admission , Progression and Retention
Compliance Requirements and Clearances : Students in the BSW program are expected to obtain Child Abuse and Criminal Record clearances prior to beginning field instruction in the senior year . Students are expected to have clean records unless given permission by the Program Director and Director of Field Education .
Professional Disposition and Conduct : The BSW program adheres to the NASW Code of Ethics . Students , faculty , and field placements are expected to practice ethically as determined by the Code of Ethics . The BSW program also has a list of expected behaviors and reasons for dismissal included in the program handbook
Technology Requirements : Students should have access to a computer with access to Wi-Fi .

BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES
Program Description : A student who is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree in a program other than biology may earn a minor in biological science by completing 20-24 credits in biology .
Program Admissions Requirements and Procedures : Any student who is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree other than in biology may apply to earn a minor in biological sciences . Students should speak with the coordinator of the Biology Program prior to completing the appropriate minor addition form .
Internal / External Transfers : A maximum of six credits may be transferred from another institution . All prerequisites for the chosen courses must be satisfied . To receive credit for courses taken elsewhere , submission of a transcript must be submitted , and the program may request a course syllabus to appropriately evaluate course equivalency .
Academic Standards / Grade Requirements : Grades of “ C ” or higher are required in each minor course ; C- grades are not acceptable . A student may achieve less than a “ C ” grade in only two courses , and they
