Sergio Juárez Correa is one of Mexico ' s most influential teachers. He became a teacher with the goal of helping his students succeed and have a better quality of life, because they came from families affected by violence and poverty, also his classrooms were located in an unfavorable area next to a garbage dump.
But how did it all begin? While teaching at the " Jose Urbina Lopez " elementary

Today ' s words

school in Matamoros, Mexico, he decided to implement a completely new teaching method for the institution. This was driven by the idea of improving education. He noticed how his students weren ' t learning. The classes were rigid, the teachers were strict, and there was no room for curiosity. This wasn ' t due to a lack of intelligence, but rather because the system wasn ' t designed for them. For this reason, he decided to apply the ideas of Sugata Mitra, a prominent educator and scientist, renowned for his educational approach, as he believed that children could learn on their own if provided with the right tools.
One day, Sergio brought a computer into the classroom, allowing his students to interact, explore, ask questions, and learn together. From that moment on, the students began to show greater interest in learning. This was evident in how they asked interesting questions to discuss and participate in practical activities instead of memorizing information.
Sergio was willing to help his students reach their potential, regardless of their limitations. A great example of this is the story of one of his students: Paloma Noyola, a young girl who achieved the highest math scores in the country. Today, this teacher is a great inspiration to other teachers and students, as his method allowed children to discover a new way of learning that allowed them to unlock their abilities.

Time ¿ tool or enemy? In Interstellar

Life is about decisions, you must pick, but time is running out, what would you choose? Spend the rest of your life with your family, raising your kids in a dying world or saving the future generations of humanity, but knowing that you won’ t probably see your loved ones again? It’ s hard, right? Only one person was able to choose, Cooper from the movie“ Interstellar”, the six times Oscar winner movie, directed by Cristopher Nolan and released in 2014.
This movie revolved around a dystopic world where Joseph Cooper a farmer and ex pilot has to lead a mission to cross a wormhole and look for new planets. But above all of the problems he must go through, time relativity appears. Despite being only science fiction, this film needed lots of scientists and a Nobel winner, Kip Thorne, so every detail has a close look to science. In those 3 hours, Copper will travel around space and deal with time dilatation; most of what is seen there is based on Thorne’ s and Einstein’ s theories.
Time dilatation is caused by gravity and how strong it can be, depending on the potential of the gravitational field, time can be slower compared to others, which means it stretches. In this story it can be seen, even heard; Hanz Zimmer, the composer of the soundtrack wanted to represent the tension of losing time in a different way; when they arrived in one of the planets, Miller, you can hear a rhythm every 1.25 seconds, every time it sounds, it represents a day on Earth, this is thanks to the fact that Miller was near a black hole, as you might think, that one has a huge gravitational potential, and immediately Cooper and his teammates understand that time is more valuable than anything, an hour there would be 7 years on Earth, 2555 days lost with people you love and care about.
Interstellar is not only a film, is a whole experience, every scene, every detail has a reason, but mainly Nolan wants to show us something, Cooper left when he was 35 years old, he came back as a man who was older than 100 years old, which is his chronological age, who looked the same as he left; he had to return to his dead son and a daughter who was near to death, but was happy, because she had a purpose in life and a huge family built, seeing the success in your kids life is every parents dream, but having to see them in their deathbed is not what you would want in life. Time doesn’ t wait for anyone, everyone depends on it, if it’ s not now then, when is the right time? Let me ask you something, should we be more afraid of death or time?
