Dave Chisnall produced his best performance of the weekend so far as he averaged 106.30 in his 6-4 victory over Steve Beaton. The St Helens based thrower landed a maximum and took out 84 to win the opening leg before Beaton levelled the match at 1-1. Chisnall again moved in front, this time thanks to a 90 checkout, before Beaton levelled once more by landing a 14-darter. The next four legs were also shared, with Beaton landing a 139 checkout on the way, but it was Chisnall who took the match by the scruff of it’s neck landing a 90 checkout to move 5-4 up before sealing the victory with a 170 checkout in the tenth leg.
