Ladies Classic This event was the third stand alone ladies event organised by the recently formed Ladies Darts Organisation and it did not disappoint. By all accounts the standard of play was impeccable all day, with youngsters Danielle Ashton (15) and Natasha Eaves (14) impressing in the early stages, before the elite of the ladies game rose to the top to contest the later rounds. In the singles Deta Hedman played well all day to reach the semifinals where she took on Linda Itthuralde. The World Number 1 did not disappoint, emerging with a 4-1 victory to set up a thrilling final with Trina Gulliver, who herself played well in the semi-finals to defeat Lisa Ashton. The final was a top notch affair, with leg after leg being exchanged by the two greats of the ladies game. In the end it was Trina who held her nerve to seal the match winning double in the ninth and deciding leg, in the process securing the £1000 first prize. The pairs event was won by Deta Hedman and Fallon Sherrock, who overcame Clair Ball and Juliet Findley 4-1 in a final to show why they are two of the top ranked lady players in the World.
