The game against Simon was brilliant and in a way it kicked started my comeback but I think the real turning point was to actually qualify for that event as I was sitting in 17th place just before so I had to get in through the players floor events and I only just got there in 16th place, this gave me a kick in the backside to get myself back on track and back to the level I am at now. We are in a golden age of darts at the moment, could you give us an idea of what it is like to play alongside some of the greatest ever to play? Its a dream come true for me, I used to watch them on TV when I was younger and wished it was me playing up on that stage, now I am up there with them it’s a great feeling. Stoke has taken a lead in producing a trio of players from the current crop of darting excellence, do you think there is a reason why the town is such a hotbed of darts? Stoke has always been a working mans city where people have had to work hard to achieve what they want. I think this attitude carried on into their leisure time as well, darts was and still is a major part of the pubs and clubs in the area with many teams and leagues throughout the city so it was always going to produce some great players. What was it like practicing with the likes of Phil Taylor in the Stoke area? Do you think it has helped to further your career? It was a massive privilege to be asked by Phil to practice with him, and it was a learning curve for me, but I feel it was my own hard work and dedication that got me where I am today.
