European Darts Open

The last of a triple header of European Tour events saw a host
of top PDC stars heading to Dusseldorf in Germany for the
European Darts Open where they were joined by a the top
players from across Europe and the host nation.
After three days of non-stop action it was Peter Wright who claimed
the ultimate victory with a 6-2 defeat of a resurgent Simon Whitlock
in the final.

Tour Title
There were some other excellent performances over the weekend,
with the likes of Gary Anderson and James Wade continuing to show
their recent good form, but it was Wright who produced the best darts
overall as he became a deserved champion.
First Round
With a changed format on the European Tour this season fans are often
kept waiting for the big names to enter the tournament in the second
round, whilst watching the European, UK and Host Nation qualifiers
competing on night one.
Dusseldorf proved to be somewhat of an exception though, with a
number of big names being forced to get into the tournament through
the qualifying system
Raymond van Barneveld was first up and things proved pretty easy for
the five-time World Champion, who defeated Martin Schindler 6-3 to
