some signs that Taylor only has a
few years left in the top echelons.
He has looked nervous at times,
with the nerves costing him dear
especially in his Premier League
semi-final, perhaps returning to
an arena he loves and has a good
record at will solve this but I fear
somewhat for his unbeaten run
although if he does lose it I am
sure that it will come in the later
rounds.
If Taylor doesn’t fire 100% then
a Dutch victory looks to be the
favourite
outcome,
although
Adrian Lewis will no doubt have
a lot to say about that, as will a
resurgent James Wade.
If the Dutch and English
powerhouses cancel each other
out there is also an opportunity
for the likes of Simon Whitlock,
Peter Wright, Gary Anderson or
Robert Thornton to step in and
take a maiden Matchplay crown.
There are some great non-seeds
too, but if I was a betting man
then I would be looking at a Dutch
victory coming either from Barney
or Mighty Mike.
