This year’s BetVictor World Matchplay, which will take place at
the Winter Gardens, Blackpool starting on 19th July, looks set
to be one of the most exciting to date, with a host of darting
greats finding top form at the right time, but for me it comes
down to a case of irresistible force versus immovable object.

van Barneveld have embarked
upon an era of Dutch darting
dominance during the first half
of this year, with van Gerwen
lifting the World Championship
and Dubai Masters and Barneveld
adding the Premier League.
The pair also combined to lift
Netherland’s second World Cup
of Darts recently and they will
no doubt both be out to add to
their impressive list of titles. The
