The UK Performance
Coaches’ Association
(UKPCA)
36
The new association came to fruition after leading coaches, who
are part of UK Sport’s prestigious Coaching Fellowship, felt further
support was needed to develop and uphold the welfare of British
high-performance coaches.
The UKPCA aims to:
High-performance coaches
operate in pressurised
environments and while
there is increasing support
for the welfare of athletes,
there is little to support and
develop the coaches, who
also experience a wealth of
emotions and pressures.
• raise the profile of British
high-performance coaching
• provide a representative
voice and advocate for
high-performance coaches
• assist in professionalising
performance coaching
• provide a platform for
members to connect, pool
ideas, learn and solve
problems together
• support members with
services, such as legal,
employment, financial advice
and coach welfare
• help inspire and guide
the next generation of
high-performance coaches.
