The ten pin bowlers tried out their skills at the nearby Sports Stadium. With the guidance from our very own Ms Sarah and Ms Elena the students were able to learn about the technicalities of Ten Pin Bowling. These included the language used, the techniques and even the rules and etiquette that come with this game.
The rock climbers, led by Mr Chad, Ms Trish and Mr Polawski, headed out to another famous sporting venue in Guangzhou - the Olympic Stadium in Luogang. This is home to Guangzhou’s highest artificial rock wall. The wall is lined with climbs of varying levels and all necessary safety equipment is available on site. It didn’t take long for the eager students to gear up and stretch. Then the only way was “UP”. One by one the students were clipped in, initially they warmed up on the easier routes but it was long until they pushed both their physical and mental strength to tackle the more difficult climbing routes. This AOC activity required the participants to make use of just about every Learner Profile Attitude and Attribute.
