The UGA Solar Demonstration Project atop the Jackson Street Building, UGA’s first building integrated solar
energy project, provides data utilized in teaching and research by College of Environment & Design, College of
Engineering and Terry College of Business.

The Campus Sustainability Grants program has fostered nine student research initiatives that engage academics
and operations managers to use the UGA campus as a living laboratory, including research into living walls for
urban food production, the effectiveness of raingardens at removing heavy metals from urban runoff, the
validity of wireless electric vehicle charging technologies, and developing a roadmap for UGA’s energy reduction
and generation goals.
