Transportation ANN RA NSI T Navigating the UGA campus without a car is getting even easier. In 2013, 61% of UGA students and 31% of faculty and staff did not purchase on-campus parking permits. UGA’s campus transit system is the largest in the nation with over 11 million riders annually, contributing to Athens-Clarke County being ranked as the fourth highest public transit usage per capita in the US for 2013. Starting in 2014, the UGA App enables UGA students, faculty and staff to track campus buses in real-time making it even more convenient to ride Campus Transit. UGA bicycle infrastructure was enhanced to include new bike lanes and safety features on Sanford Drive as well as a total of four Bike Repair Stations conveniently located across the campus. Ten new bikes were purchased to expand Bulldog Bikes, UGA’s campus bike share program, providing convenient Check-Out Stations in partnership with UGA Libraries. UGA Parking Services continues to offer incentives through the Alternative Transportation Program for members of the campus community who choose not to drive to campus, and to support alternative-fueled vehicles Parking Services installed UGA’s first public Level-2 electric vehicle charging station in the North Campus Parking deck during summer 2014, which served 121 drivers in the first three months of operation. Facilities Management Division continues to update their service fleet to include a total of 21 electric vehicles in FY14-15. U U AL T RID ERS ON UGA
