The new Bolton Dining Hall, opened in Fall 2014, promotes community and sustainability while offering GA Grown products and vegetarian options at every meal. Overall, approximately 20% of food items served in UGA dining halls are from Georgia or bordering states. In 2014, Food Services reached its goal of eliminating all plastics from the waste stream and composting all organic materials leaving all dining halls on campus. Non-biodegradable products were replaced with more sustainable options including reusable bulk condiment stations, 100% silk tea bags, and bio-degradable paper straws.
