Local Food Systems Certificate The Local Food Systems Certificate program engages undergraduates in a series of coursework and project-based experiences that provide a strong interdisciplinary foundation for future careers or lifelong personal involvement in local, sustainable food systems. The program - sponsored by the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, College of Family and Consumer Sciences, College of Environment & Design and Franklin College of Arts & Sciences – graduated 15 students in the 2013 inaugural class and 35 students from multiple academic disciplines are currently enrolled. The Sustainable Food Systems Initiative received a USDA National Needs Fellows grant in FY14 to fund 7 graduate students over the next four years.
