Biotechnology is a fast developing science, focusing on the commercial application of living organisms or their products, in areas such as tropical agriculture. Opportunities for project and work experience include research and diagnostic laboratories and bio-industries. The degree includes subjects in patent law/intellectual property, and enterprise and project management. Electives may also cover biochemistry, and plant and animal genetics.
