The Bodner/Faircloth Scholarship is designed to recognize
and reward outstanding leadership and scholarship of a
member of the Inter-Residence Hall Association (IRHA).
Applicants for the Bodner/Faircloth Scholarship must
be an active representative of the University of Florida
IRHA; must be a full-time student in good standing;
must have achieved a high academic success (minimum
3.0 cumulative GPA upon application); must be directly
involved in residence hall activities and area/hall
government, and must be returning as a student in the
fall 2015 semester.
A committee composed of Department of Housing
and Residence Education professional staff and
representatives from Inter-Residence Hall Association
will select the recipient. The recipient is awarded a
$2000 scholarship during the annual IRHA
Spring Banquet. The scholarship must be used
toward the payment of educational expenses
incurred as a student attending the University
of Florida, therefore graduating seniors are
exempt from the award.
Emily Walters is the 2016 recipient of the
Bodner and Faircloth Scholarship.
Emily is the newly elected Inter-Residence Hall
Association Secretary and served as Murphree
Area Council Secretary and President. She
was also recognized as an IRHA Rising Star in
2014 and 2015. She is a senior with a double
major in Microbiology/Cell Science and Arts in
International Studies.
