The softball season has come and gone, and the Lady Panther’s have had quite a season! The team accumulated a 20-16 record behind outstanding seasons from freshman Laken Chambers, and juniors Courtney Busbee and Hallye King. Coach Jessica Stewart told us, “the team worked very hard all season to reach their goal of winning twenty games.” The Lady Panther’s eventually reached this goal, and in turn, advanced to the state playoffs. The team suffered a heartbreaking defeat to Lovett High in the first round of the plays!
As we reflect on the Lady Panther’s season, we would also like to take a look back at the softball careers of seniors Allie Stroman and Madison Rich. Madison played Varsity for four years now and says, “She will miss playing in front of her friends and family, and hearing her name called over the speakers”. Our other senior, Allie, played for three years on Varsity and says she will never forget “beating Jefferson on our home field, as well as playing every season with her friends.” Along with being talented players, Coach Stewart said, “Madison and Allie were great role models and I’m very proud of both of them.” Near the end of September, on senior night, the Lady Panther’s grabbed two victories against Washington Wilkes in honor of our two seniors!
