Pride of the Mountains
Marching Band
Have you ever wondered why on Friday nights the town of Blairsville is so desolate? Well if so then I have the answer for you. It's because everyone is at the football stadium watching our phenomenal football team, our fantastic cheerleaders, and our superb Pride of the Mountains Marching Band. At every half time our own high school marching band has entertained all the ten minutes of non-stop musical excitement, full of four different movements and songs.
This year our band program has undergone many changes just as our school system has a as well. We were graced with an incredible new band director, Mr. Will Stafford. Mr. Stafford has been doing a fabulous job with our band program this year, creating a fun, interesting, and impactful half-time show t. The half-time show for this year was the process of change, from realization all the way to acceptance. This process of change show included the songs Battle Hymn Chorale, the theme song from The Avengers, Sing Sing Sing, and Simple Gifts.
With this show our band competed in one competition in Fannin County. This year our band, percussion, majorettes, and guard received excellent. Our drum major, Julia Lindsey received a superior rating. Our color guard placed 2nd in their division. The process of change show was a major hit with everyone and the judges. Keep up the good work everyone.
