Graham’s pedigree had Laughing Cavaliers or dogs owned by Laughing Cavaliers such as CKCSC USA and CKC Ch. Laughing Charisma so Barbara was our natural contact to take us to the next step. We were very fortunate with our timing as Barbara had just done a breeding with AKC and CKCSC USA Laughing Charisma and CKC Ch. Blacamati Rare Crystal, of Y Cymry, CD, C-CD, CGC, TDI who went back on Judyland Cavaliers. From that breeding, AKC and CKC Ch. Y Cymry Brighton was our second real show cavalier. He had a wonderful temperament and was a true showman at heart. He was awarded Best Puppy in Breed and Best of Breed at 9 months of age at The Renaissance Dog Association in British Columbia, Canada. It was the camaraderie and sportsmanship of the day that inspired us to continue to show. We had also become involved in our local AKC Club, the BACKCSC Inc. and embarked upon a serious study of the breed and the standard. Our goal was to have a nice Cavalier to show that represented the breed standard and had good health and longevity behind him. We looked throughout the West including British Columbia, Canada. We greatly admired a dog that was being shown in Canada at the time and that eventually became the #1 dog in 1998, Canadian BIS and Multiple Group Winning CKC and AKC Ch. Mostyn Celtic.
