Many of you may have noticed students wearing the poppy pin during these few days. The poppy is used to commemorate soldiers who have died in war. Inspired by the World War I poem "In Flanders Fields", they are now commonly used amongst the US and commonwealth countries as a representing symbol for the occasion. They are commonly purchased by donation and worn during the two weeks leading up to Remembrance Day.
