UAP Makati CBD and LCDPFI Conducts Accessibility Audit
at Unilever Philippines BGC

Last May 27, 2019 the UAP Makati CBD Chapter was
once again tapped by Leonard Cheshire Disability
UAP Makati CBD Chapter and LCDPFI representatives
Philippines Foundation, Inc. (LCDPFI) as their partner for
Accessibility.
This came after some coordination with LCDPFI by
Unilever Philippines, in its commitment to provide
a working environment that promotes diversity and
equal opportunity, and where there is mutual trust and
respect for human rights free of discrimination, for an
assessment of its office facilities in Bonifacio Global
City, Taguig.
CBD architects who participated in the Unilever PWD
Accessibility Audit were Ar. Michael Frederick Z. Lazo,
Ar. Reynaldo M. Cristobal Jr., Ar. Murielle Gallardo-
Cristobal, and Ar. Erika Vixeen Dia. They were assisted
by LCDPFI representatives Ms. Dianne C. Roxas and
Dr. Maureen Ava Mata, and were accommodated by
Chapter President Arch. Michael Frederick Lazo and VP Reynaldo M. Cristobal participated in the
Unilever PWD Accessibility Audit
Unilever Philippines representatives, Ms. Sofia Lorenzo,
Ms. Lugille Teola and Ms. Maria Carmen Lim.
The group checked Unilever’s facilities against a
total of 18 categories but focused more on four key
accessibility features namely: (1) Accessible Ramps, (2)
PWD Toilets, (3) PWD Parking Slots, and (4) Signages.
While there remains opportunities for improvement
and optimization, toilets, parking slots, and signages
for PWDs were noted as available and accessible. The
group commends Unilever Philippines for upholding
safe and healthy working conditions for all employees,
including differently-abled personnel.
