Introduction
Wheat is a crucial crop worldwide , feeding many people and providing essential nutrients . It covers a massive area and produces a lot of food , contributing more than 20 % of the world ' s calories . Water is vital for plant growth because it helps them function correctly . Unfortunately , we face problems like drought and temperature changes , which affect wheat production . Lack of rain and severe drought are major reasons for lower crop yields . Many studies have looked into how these water issues affect wheat production . This text explores these challenges and the role of water in wheat farming .
Results
Section 1 — Seeding and Setup Phase : In the fall of 2021 , we did an experiment to learn about four types of wheat grown in Romania ' s Western Plain . We planted their seeds in 12 plastic containers , each with 40 seeds . We wanted to see how these wheat seeds would grow with different levels of water . The types of wheat are constituted by : Triticum durum ( Wintergold ) – durum autumn wheat ; Triticum aestivum ( Antonius ) – Antonius , autumn wheat ; Triticum aestivum ( Glosa ) – Glosa , autumn wheat ; Triticum aestivum ( Apache ) – Apache , autumn wheat .
Section 2 — Creating the Environment : To make the containers similar to real fields , we placed them where they would get sunlight and outside temperature but no rain .
Section 3 — Watering and Data Collection : We planted the seeds on October 4 , 2021 , and watered them . Then , on October 18 , 2021 , we gave water to only one container for each type of wheat . After 14 days , we watered the containers that ended with numbers one and two . On November 15 , 2021 , we watered all three containers of each type . We did this to see how the wheat handled different watering schedules and cold weather ( Fig . 1 and 2 ).
