Corporate Compliance
Corporate Compliance provides guidance for our organization to conduct business
with integrity and in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulatory
requirements. You will be required to undergo annual training.

Risk Management
UAB Medicine maintains an Office of Risk Management to make Owning It easy by
reporting incidents such as mistakes or patient falls. This office also helps deal with
legal matters such as lawsuits, living wills, patient consent, and more.

Department of Quality and Patient Safety
The Department of Quality and Patient Safety helps assure safe, timely, efficient, effective,
equitable and patient-centered care for those we serve by facilitating process improvement
teams, adverse event investigation, data and process analysis, and education.
Employee Health
The Office of Employee Health helps you stay healthy so you can keep our patients healthy.
Employee Health assists with yearly TB tests, needle sticks, and vaccinations, including
the annual flu vaccine.
The Joint Commission
An independent, not-for-profit organization that accredits and certifies health care
organizations in the United States. Joint Commission Accreditation is a symbol of quality.
HIPAA
We also follow all federal standards for the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability
Act of 1996.
