Do any of the ideas on this list surprise you? Which ideas do you like? I hope this list inspires you to create your own list. 

You may be wondering, “Why do I need to make a Gratitude List?” Great question! Your list is a visual reminder that you have things in your life that are positive and are working well for you. That feels pretty awesome!

Secondly, feeling thankful is a great way to cope with those times when you are upset about something, disappointed in yourself or frustrated about family, school or work issues. Focusing on what you appreciate in life may be the furthest thing from your mind in those difficult moments; however, it may be just the strategy you need to move through unhappy feelings and disappointments.

When you can truly appreciate what you have in your life, the things that seem big and scary have a way of shrinking in size and scariness factor. You may start thinking that you can cope with the present situation and that there is hope for a solution because you have the renewed and strength to move through your day. In fact, it is my experience that things have a way of turning themselves around when I adopt a daily attitude of gratitude.

So the second challenge I have for you is to try out this strategy of thinking about what you are grateful for when you are feeling unhappy, disappointed or frustrated with life. Thinking about your list connects you to your soul which in turn allows you to feel peace and calm. Saying your list aloud and hearing your voice may be even more beneficial to you and have a greater impact than merely thinking the words. Either way, you’ll start to feel better because of the deep, personal meaning you attach to your list.

What will be on your list? Be specific so it is personally meaningful to you. How long should your list be? As long as you want it. Keep your list close by and remember to reflect on your list if you are having a tough day. Things can change for the better in an instant for you if you choose.

I hope you enjoyed learning about gratitude. Have an outstanding day filled with love, hope, and your favourite things!

In peace and joy,

Stacey 
