My trip to Cardiff for the Welsh games
By Graeme Roberts
The games took place in Cardiff July 8-11th, we drove
down in a minibus and stayed in the university. The first
night we went to Cardiff City stadium for a meal and
disco, I had to wear my suit.
The following day I took part in the javelin which I won a
gold medal for and the shot put which I won a silver
medal. That night we had another meal and disco with all
the athletes.
On the 3rd day it was the swimming competition, I did the
breaststroke and won a gold. As it was the last night we
had a fancy dress party and the blues brothers
performed. The following morning after breakfast we
headed home. I really enjoyed the games and I’m looking
forward to next years competition in Bangor.
Congratulations to Graeme
and all the other athletes
that took part in the games
on
their
fantastic
achievements.

Trip to Cardiff for an advocacy conference
By Graeme Roberts
Myself and 4 friends travelled to Cardiff in a minibus with 3 people from advocacy, we
stayed in a nice hotel in Cardiff Bay where the conference was being held.
The first night we went to a nice restaurant called Demiro’s and the waiters are Italian
opera singers, I had a pizza it was delicious!
On the Monday morning the conference began and lasted all day, we spoke about
work and if we enjoyed our jobs. Later that night we went bowling and played pool.
The next day we went to the conference and recapped what we’d discussed the
previous day, we returned home later that day.
