Ferguson Tractor Restoration
For years Tyddyn Môn’s old Ferguson
TE-20 tractor sat in a barn not being used
and gathering dust. However, recently a
number of enthusiastic trainees along with
the support of staff members saved the
tractor from inevitably rotting away. Work
has begun under the supervision of staff
member Phil Masterson on re-building the
tractor with the aim of completely restoring
the tractor to it’s former glory. The work up
to date has included stripping the tractor
down, repairing broken parts and loosening
rusty parts with work beginning on rebuilding the engine in the last few months
thanks to a donation of an engine overhaul
kit and other parts by Andy Westmore, an
engineer who’s expertise are also proving
invaluable to the project.

The project featured in
Work has also been completed on a new
workshop area for restoring the tractor, with
a space in one of the barns being cleared
and tided to make space for the tractor and
tools required for the project.
A number of trainees have recently joined
the project and are enjoying the challenge of
helping to restore the tractor whilst at the
same time developing new skills. If you
would like to support the project in any way
please get in touch with Phil at the farm, we
also hope to keep everyone updated with
the progress of the project in each
newsletter.
