It is crucial that young people become c h a m p i o n s o f t h e Sustainable Development Goals . GAP visit each school facilitating global citizenship and environmental workshops enabling each TY student to grow more skilled in evaluating the ethics & impacts of their decisions .

FOTA WILDLIFE PARK

Fota Wildlife Park ’ s award w i n n i n g e d u c a t i o n d e p a r t m e n t o f f e r s a variety of modules to school students ! The team-building option is a fun day out and there is an educational element to all our activities , ensuring that every student leaves with additional knowledge . Our practical field ecology courses provide students with the knowledge and practical skills !

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY

We build houses with people . We work together with homeowners and volunteers to construct , renovate , or refurbish homes using donations of money , land and materials . Once completed , houses are sold to partner families at below market cost , providing a hand up rather than a hand out .

IRISH MILITARY WAR MUSEUM

World War Experience .

Students will have the opportunity to tour the museum with a guide , receive a workshop from an award-winning historian , handle original weapons and equipment , visit a replica WW1 trench , watch a blank-firing weapons d i s p l a y w i t h p e r i o d weapons , and ride in a tank !!

GLASNEVIN CEMETRY MUSEUM

Learn about the events and personalities that shaped the course of Irish history through guided tours of the cemetery .

Tour guiding programme : an excellent opportunity for students to develop skills of research , writing & public speaking while exploring the history of 1 9 t h & 2 0 t h C e n t u r y Ireland in a challenging , practical & fun way .

JOHN HOOPER MEDAL FOR STATISTICS

An all- Ireland competition for teams of 2-3 students that involves analysis , interpretation and communication of statistics or statistical information .

The goal is to improve s t u d e n t s ’ a b i l i t i e s t o describe their environment with the help of statistics as a tool for making sense of daily life .
