Forensic Workshop

The group of TYs split up into groups in an attempt to solve the murder case given to them, which although was challenging, went down well with the students. The purpose of the workshop was not only for the students to have fun, but to also open their eyes to the career possibilities in forensic sciences.

Colaiste Lorcain students were solving murders in early February. The TYs took the day off from classes and participated in a forensic science workshop. In this workshop the students were educated on the ins and outs of crime investigations, they learned about collecting and analysing evidence, and even had the opportunity to do it themselves!

Chess and Sign Language

TYs continued to participate in both chess and sign languages this month. Students are persistently improving their skills in chess and enjoy competing with their classmates in preparation for their upcoming tournament.

Kathleen O'Brien teaches sign language to the students every week, they use their fingers and hands to make shapes to communicate without direct speech.

Taekwondo

Taekwondo classes ended this month for Tys, in their final lesson the students had the privilege of working with World silver and bronze medal holder Kasia Czupryn.
