Hip Hop has come a long way since its origin in 1970’s Bronx. Today, the world of Hip Hip is drowning in emcees flooding the internet and news feeds with videos and posts. Neighborhood street corners were once the stage for rap battles, but today with just a click of a mouse pad rappers thousands of miles apart can go at it face to face. In today’s, Hip Hop world you aren’t just competing with the best emcee on your block, but with the best emcee in the nation. Today you have to be a little more than just a “Rapper”, do a little more than just make songs, and think a little broader than your local rap scene.

Jeff “Jay Uno” Murat, Brooklyn native but resident of the world, is more than your average emcee. He started to express his love for music by making beats, but soon discovered he not only shined behind a key board or a drum machine, but behind a mic as well. After working with various artists he noticed one thing they all lacked, self-sufficiency. Being a great lyricist but not a producer, or vice versa, left you at a disadvantage. Realizing he was able to create his own beats as well as rap over them, he began to build the “Jay Uno” brand. Living by his motto “If there isn’t a way to get to it, I will make one”, he started to take over not only Brooklyn but Long Island as well. Creating a following for himself he soon got the attention of hip hop heavy weight Red Cafe. With his new made association Jay Uno took his strategy to another level. He made connections all over the east coast from New York to Atlanta and all the way down to South Florida. He has worked with big labels like Rick Ross‘ Maybach Music Group and as well as smaller independent labels, recognizing that in today’s hip hop a major contract is just one way to make it. Jay Uno is building a brand that connects and identifies with a broad audience. He doesn’t want to be a rapper in just one lane, but an artists that infiltrates highways that lead to every corner of the world.
