Born June 12, 1991 in St.Paul Minnesota a rising young and upcoming rap star, Taylor J started pursing an interest in writing rap verses at the tender age of 11. Taylor J’s inspiration was his older brother, who was incarcerated at the time. His encouragement built a bond of strength and much needed support of Taylor J’s future career goals. Despite support from his parents, who had more traditional values, Taylor J persevered. In high school he joined two other rappers and they performed at talent shows and community events. These performances started to fade, thus prompting Taylor J’s move to Las Vegas for a few months to indulge in music full time.
Upon his return to St. Paul, he was more inspired stating, “In Vegas, I saw so many people living happy and there’s no way in hell I’m not getting and living that life”. With that mindset Taylor J began his journey and formed a huge fan base known as “TJT” Taylor J Takeover. This fan base was followed Taylor J throughout the “Twin Cities” at party events, and other openings for the likes of Ace Hood, Nipsey Hustle, and Wale while circulating his “Now You Know” mix tape and online videos. He also designed tees and sweaters with his new logo “TJT” and with fan support it flew off the shelves.
Currently Taylor J lives in the city of Atlanta where he is working on becoming the next big name reigning in this industry. He strives for success and is working diligently on making a name for himself. His current works have included weekly Taylor J Tuesday leaks, mix tapes “Now You Know”, TJT Takeover Volume 1 (hosted by DJ Woogies of Soulja Boy camp), and “Mental Dope” (hosted by DJ Holiday), which has been his biggest success. His latest mix tape “Control”, which is set to be released soon, is being influenced by the changes of everyday life.
“I’m not where I want to be yet”, Taylor J states, “but I’ll get where I need to by once the opportunity presents itself”.
He is currently signed to Big Play ENT. Working on his next mix tape. Promoting his hit single's "They know" & "Oh well" Taylor J is about to become a house hold name.
