Black Girlz Productions By:  Mz. Neeka Mz. Neeka: How important was it for you to go to college? Shaneisha: Higher education plays an important role in my life. I truly believe that knowledge is power. An education is something that no one can ever take away from you. When I decided to attend college, I never thought that I would be the first person in my family to graduate until I walked across the stage. Mz. Neeka: When did you realize this was the industry you wanted to be in? Shaneisha: I think I found my love for the arts in high school. I used to compete in competitive speech and solo acting and I have always loved to write. flowed smoothly. I planned out how I wanted things to be done, did research, and executed my plan. Mz. Neeka: How long have you been offering annual scholarships? Shaneisha: I’ve been offering my annual scholarship for six years. It’s open to high school and current college students. I post the scholarship topic every year in December. Mz. Neeka: With the starting of the production company, was it a difficult transition and what message do you want your audience to receive? Shaneisha: No, everything ran smoothly. I knew what I wanted and I went for it, so the transition was natural. I want the audience to feel encouraged and inspired. I want them to leave my productions feeling better than what they did when they walked in the theatre doors. Mz. Neeka: Who are some of your influences? Shaneisha: My influences are Oprah, Shonda Rhimes, and any positive woman who knocks down doors for the next generation to follow. Mz. Neeka: Can you describe a day in the theater house? Mz. Neeka: How would you describe your venture starting the Shaneisha: The day of any producproduction
