Mz. Neeka: How important was it
for you to go to college?
Shaneisha: Higher education plays
an important role in my life. I truly
believe that knowledge is power. An
education is something that no one
can ever take away from you. When
I decided to attend college, I never
thought that I would be the first person in my family to graduate until I
walked across the stage.
Mz. Neeka: When did you realize
this was the industry you wanted
to be in?
Shaneisha: I think I found my love
for the arts in high school. I used to
compete in competitive speech and
solo acting and I have always loved
to write.
flowed smoothly. I planned out how
I wanted things to be done, did research, and executed my plan.
Mz. Neeka: How long have you
been offering annual scholarships?
Shaneisha: I’ve been offering my
annual scholarship for six years. It’s
open to high school and current college students. I post the scholarship
topic every year in December.
Mz. Neeka: With the starting of the
production company, was it a difficult transition and what message do
you want your audience to receive?
Shaneisha: No, everything ran
smoothly. I knew what I wanted
and I went for it, so the transition
was natural. I want the audience to
feel encouraged and inspired. I want
them to leave my productions feeling better than what they did when
they walked in the theatre doors.
Mz. Neeka: Who are some of your
influences?
Shaneisha: My influences are Oprah,
Shonda Rhimes, and any positive
woman who knocks down doors for
the next generation to follow.
Mz. Neeka: Can you describe a day
in the theater house?
Mz. Neeka: How would you describe your venture starting the Shaneisha: The day of any producproduction
