ANTI-LITTER CAMPAIGN

TOM has zero tolerance Ais for... towards littering

Bis for... anywhere on the route, including at refreshment stations, the start and the finish as part of our commitment to environmental preservation. Littering is defined as the act of disposing of waste items anywhere except in a container provided for that purpose. The event waste items include paper cups, bottles, wrappers and containers, whether supplied by the organisers or brought to the race by any participants.

Littering is considered intentional when there is a litter bin in the immediate or reasonable vicinity but this is not used to dispose of a waste item. If you are guilty of intentional littering, you may be subject to disqualification or barred from future Two Oceans Marathon events.
ADVERTISING
Only the following advertising or branding may be displayed on a club competitor’ s upper body attire.
• Title Sponsor: Totalsports on the race number.
• Sub-sponsor: Small logo and / or name of the clothing manufacturer.
• The name of the club sponsor may appear either as part of the name or independent of the club name. Club sponsor identification may appear once only.
If unsure, please visit the Rules on www. twooceansmarathon. org. za for a list of what is not allowed to make sure that your race day kit complies.
BLUE NUMBER CLUB
The Blue Number Club is the hall of legends! This permanent race number is reserved for runners who have conquered 10 or more TOMs, won three or more titles, or claimed five or more gold medals. It’ s a badge of honour, worn by the best. If you’ re chasing your 10th finish, keep pushing – your place in TOM history awaits.
Blue Number Club members enjoy exclusive access to special hospitality areas at the Expo and finish. The BNC band you receive at the BNC area at Expo grants you access to the Expo BNC lounge. The band you receive at the BNC Marquee at the finish gives you access to the BNC tent on the day of your race and is only valid for yourself.
• As a BNC Ultra runner, you will be granted access to the BNC Tent on Saturday, 5 April.
• As a BNC Half Marathon runner, you will be granted access to the BNC Tent on Sunday, 6 April.
If you are running your 10th Ultra or Half, you’ ll wear a Yellow Number. Your Blue Number will be issued at the finish line should you complete the event inside the official cut-off time( batch gun to mat).
BENEFICIARY SPOTLIGHT
Each year after the event, charitable organisations are invited to apply for funding support, thanks to the donations of big-hearted runners to the Two Oceans Marathon Initiative( TOMI). Applications by charities or philanthropic organisations are evaluated according to strict criteria. The final beneficiary selection is done in the months following the race. There is no set number of beneficiaries that will be decided upon every year.
