Qualifying Window and Seeding Period
All TTOM Ultra Marathon entrants must run a qualifying marathon( 42.2km) or a longer distance, and submit that time before the Qualifying Window closes, in order to be able to line up in the race. This qualifying time will also determine each runner’ s starting batch seeding. Half Marathon entrants do not need to run a qualifier, but submitting a verified qualifying time can help you secure a higher seeding batch.
Remember, all TTOM Ultra and Half runners are grouped into start batches based on qualifying time or ability. This is to ensure that participants of similar pace start together, while also
ensuring a safe start for all participants, and a less congested early section of the race, thus allowing all runners to get up to race pace soon after starting.
Please note the following:
• Ultra Marathon: The Qualifying Window period is 1 May 2026 to 7 March 2027. Submit a qualifying marathon( or longer distance) time within this timeframe to secure your spot on the start line.
• Half Marathon: Submit your official 10km, 15km, or 21.1km race time by 28 February 2027 to ensure you are assigned to the correct start batch on race day.( If no time is submitted, you will be allocated to the last few batches.)

If you can no longer participate and would like to withdraw your entry, or are looking to take over an entry from another runner, the official Substitution Process gives you the opportunity to complete this process. Just take note of the opening and closing dates for this entries process.

Thanks to an incredible response from runners wanting to give back, the TOMi entry allocation – 1,000 for the Ultra Marathon and 1,000 for the Half Marathon − completely sold out by the end of August. Released on 3 August on a first-come, first-served basis, these entries raised R2 million for the Two Oceans Marathon Initiative.
TOMi is the philanthropic division of the TOM NPC. It was launched ahead of the 2012 event to generate funding for charities that match the TOM NPC’ s four social impact pillars:
• Education
• Environment
• Health and Wellness
• Athletics Development
The TOM NPC has a dedicated TOMI subcommittee to oversee grants, income and disbursements in alignment with these pillars as well as good governance practices.
