Marketing and general management , research and consultancy ( incl 18 months in Zurich ) 1961-3 ; assistant group marketing manager , Exchange Telegraph Co , London 1969 . He then set up his own business in sales of Audio-Visual equipment , Video Conferencing systems and sales , conference and training facilities in the UK , with HQ in Wokingham , 1992 . He retired in 1999 . He married Hazel Palmer in 1962 , who died in 2022 , and is survived by his 3 sons .

National Service 1956-8 , KRRC , cricket 1956-7 . He worked at Lloyds of London 1958-64 . He then returned to Hampshire County Cricket Club 1964-71 : he began playing for Hampshire 2nd XI and then in 1965 he came into the first side as they sought a partner for Roy Marshall . There were three half-centuries in the four matches on his return and from 1966-1970 , until the arrival of Gordon Greenidge , he played regularly alongside Barry Richards . In 1966 , 1967 & 1968 , he passed 1,000 runs , scoring consistently . OW winning sides in Arthur Dunn Cup 1961 , Cricketer Cup 1970 , 1974 , 1982 . Farmer from 1967 . The School hugely benefitted from his coaching : soccer 1988-90 and cricket 1989-2012 , as well as Hampshire ’ s Colts and under-19 sides . He married Shirley Charlton in 1963 , who died in 2018 , and is survived by 2 daughters and a son .

Registrar in anaesthetics , Queen Victoria Hospital , East Grinstead . He became the chairman of the League of Friends of the Queen Victoria Hospital and also governor at the Notre Dame School in Lingfield for several years . His hobbies were sailing , golf , bridge , reading , making marmalade and general fixer . He married Rosemary Ward in 1964 , who survives him together with their 4 daughters .
