Lucas Adrian Fuller Stokes ( I , 41-46 ; Co Ro , 53-61 ); died 22.5 . 2021 . Brother of EHS and TGHS . Exhibitioner , Leslie Hunter Prize , VIII 1945-46 . KRRC 1946 , 2 Lt RASC 1947 , a period in his life he found most disagreeable . Scholar , New College Oxford 1948 , 1 Classical Mods 1950 , 3 Lit Hum 1952 , MA 1953 ; OU VIII 1951-2 ( President ), winning the Boat Race . Assistant Master , Eton 1952 , Win Coll 1953 . He became a Catholic in 1954 and , in those days , this proved a barrier to promotion . Founder and Headmaster , Redrice School , Andover 1961-82 , the first lay-run Catholic public school . Director , Special Needs Unit , Kinloss School , Worcester 1983-84 ; Director Dyslexia Teaching Centre ( Kensington ) 1985- 2006 , coaching older students to postgraduate level . On retiring from work at the age of 70 , he became Parish Clerk at Abbotts Ann in Hampshire . There was now time to enjoy his considerable skills at bookbinding and furniture restoration . He married Veronica Durham in 1954 , who survives him together with their four daughters .

Downing College Cambridge 1942 ; FAA 1943-6 , Observer Sub-Lt ( A ) RNVR , with active service in the Arctic & Pacific , which included surviving several crashes and his ship suffering a direct hit in the first mass kamikaze raid of the war . Downing College 1946 , 2 ( 1 ) Physics 1949 , MA 1953 . King ’ s School , Parramatta , assistant master 1950 , Housemaster 1958-60 . Headmaster , Hale School , Western Australia , 1960-5 . Warden ( preliminary year ), University of Papua and New Guinea , 1966-8 : he added Pidgin to his repertoire and would regularly teach and preach in that language . Independent educational consultant 1969-89 . Author of Science Concepts in a Pacific Culture . He was actively involved in various local communities , including volunteer leadership roles within his church and Scripture Union : he was still preaching into his 90s . ‘ He approached everything with energy , enthusiasm , intelligence , a booming voice and crushing bear hugs .’ He married Moyra Rank in 1947 , who died in 2008 , and is survived by 3 sons and a daughter .

Assistant master Lawrenceville School , New Jersey 1949-51 ; MDiv , Princeton Theological Seminary 1955 ; news analyst and writer , chiefly with CBS television , Philadelphia 1960-81 and Billy Graham ’ s personal researcher . Priest and pastor of Bridgeport Presbyterian Church 1981 ; Villanova University , MA Political Science 1982 and taught at Drexel University and Eastern College . Author of Is Anybody Up There ? Good God ! and The Bible for Babies . He married
Lisbeth Gilson in 1980 , who survives him .
John Grant Millar ( H , 40-44 ); died 8.10.2020 . Brother of APM , father of MJM . Co Prae , Head of House . New College Oxford 1944 , Med BA 1947 , MA 1951 ; BM , BCh 1950 . House Surgeon , Middlesex Hospital 1948-9 ; Medical Officer , St Andrew ’ s Hospital , Dollis Hill , London 1949 . Squadron-Leader ( Med ), RAF 1952-4 , where he was attached to a parachute training squadron and completed a large number of jumps . DObst 1954 . GP in Jersey 1956-91 , acting as a police doctor ; Jersey General Hospital 1991-92 . He also helped found Jersey Hospice Care and was a patron of the charity into the 2000s . He was greatly respected by the community and loved playing golf , water-skiing , sailing and enjoying time with friends and family . He married Madge Watson in 1956 , who died in 2014 , and is survived by 2 daughters and a son .
John Peter Ramsden Malpas ( C , 41-45 ); died 29.6.2021 . Co Prae , Editor Wykehamist , Tolling Stripe . RB 1946 , 2 Lt 1947 in India . New College Oxford 1948 , 3 PPE , BA 1951 , OU Ski Team . He worked for ICI in Cheshire 1951-54 . He was then a member of London Stock Exchange 1960-87 : partner , then senior partner and deputy chairman , Quilter Goodison , building up the institutional business in European equities with great success , attracting new colleagues and partners to sell internally researched equity ideas to a wide range of UK based investors .
