He worked for Hill Samuel and then Charterhouse . Founder and Director , Taylor Young Investment Management Ltd 1986-2004 , to provide highly personalised investment management to individuals . In retirement , he pursued his intellectual curiosity , attending lectures at Cambridge and learning about new technological advances , while focussing on investment ideas . A generous benefactor to Win Coll , taking a particular interest in the teaching of engineering skills . He married Rosemary Forbes in 1958 , who survives him together with 2 sons and daughter .
George Richard Hugh Bredin ( G , 48-53 ); died 10.3.2024 . Art Prize . Oriel College Oxford 1954-7 , Eng Lang and Lit . He was a copywriter and creative director in various advertising agencies : GS Royds , Ogilvy & Mather , J Walter Thompson , Grey Advertising and Dorlands . Managing Director , “ Writers in Business ”. A painter and cartoonist , he was published in Punch and Private Eye : he exhibited at various shows , including Two Oxonians Go South 2008 and Double Vision 2009 and also at the Royal Watercolour Society . He was a member of Artists At Home for many years , opening his home in Chiswick to visitors , and was known best for his beautiful watercolours of local scenes . Publications : The Jeeves Book of Mixed Drinks , 1980 , contributor to Novelists and the Novel ed M . Seymour-Smith , 1980 . He married Mary Gabrielle Drew in 1957 , marriage dissolved , and ( 2 ) Nina Violet Tamara Talbot Rice in 1966 . He is survived by 3 sons and 2 daughters .

House physician and surgeon , Middlesex Hospital . Short service commission RN , MO 1964- 7 . Registrar , ENT Surgery , Queen Elizabeth Hospital , Edgbaston ; temporary lecturer in Anatomy , Birmingham University Medical School 1967-8 ; surgical registrar , Birmingham Midland Training Scheme 1968-74 ; FRCS Edinburgh 1974 ; consultant surgeon , speciality in head and neck surgery and ENT surgery , Worcester Royal Infirmary and Hereford General Hospital 1974 . Retired 1999 . He was an enthusiastic fisherman , cricketer , golfer and tennis player and enjoyed rough shooting in the Welsh borders . He married Rozanne Coe , who survives him .
Keith Cecil Ross Howman ( E , 49-53 ); died 17.3.2024 . Brother of ACRH , father of CBRH , grandfather of BJRH , ATRH and TFRH . A & S Highlanders 1957-9 . Sales manager , Solastos Ltd 1959 and Airscrew-Weyroc Ltd 1961 ; chairman and managing director Trade Coaters Group 1966 . Chairman World Pheasant Association 1985 , then President . It all began when he started rearing a few pheasants for a small shoot in 1966 . He went on to acquire five species of ornamental pheasant , only to discover that two of them were endangered in the wild . He successfully bred from them , sparking an interest that led to him at one point owning the largest collection of pheasants in the world , with 35 species . He wrote Pheasants of the World : Their Breeding and Management 1993 and The Atlas of Rare Pheasants . OBE 2008 for services to conservation . He spent much of his latter years fishing in far off places and wrote articles for the Piscatorial Society and also for the Flyfishers Journal . He married Jean Walker in 1962 , who survives him together with a son and daughter .
Sir John Ronald Maxwell Macdonald Bt . ( B , 49-54 ); died 23.19.2023 . Son of JMM , brother of DMM . Land management and farming at Pollok House , Glasgow . He was involved in securing and the housing the huge Burrell Collection in Pollok Country Park and set up the Pollok House Arts Society in the 1960s , which held evenings of operas , recitals and jazz . He was also an active campaigner in trying to stop the demolition of the Sir John Maxwell School in Glasgow . An enthusiast for country sports , he was also a keen angler and sailor . He succeeded his mother as 12th Baronet of Pollok 2011 , one of the few baronetcies descendible via females . He married Ruth Laird in 1964 , who survives him together with 2 sons and a daughter .
