No . 137 The Trusty Servant aats ’ all over the pitch : great to have Waki back in central defence ; punchy punching from Tristan in goal ( and no red card !); Jonny damaging his Achilles Gazza-style hatcheting their left midfield ( he ’ s in A & E this morning …); Paddy H and Tom trying to contain their jackal ; Marshy and Mase poaching up top ( the game plan !); Benji and Tom on the right , solid in defence and springing counterattacks ; Paddy S like a Scottish midge was everywhere and Salz surviving 90 mins at centre-mid , on probably the biggest ( and possibly the best ?) pitch any of us have played on .

More than a team – Chawkerites and their Housemaster
with players sometimes decades apart in age , taking on the fast-paced game of VIs . A total of 28 matches were played across three canvasses , to determine the ultimate winner and runner up in both the main and Plate competitions .
Thanks and congratulations go to all who raised sides this year . It was particularly good to see seven teams return from Nevin Pot 2023 . Two such teams nearly repeated their successful 2023 tournament : Linden Grigg ’ s side ( F , 13-18 ) finally won a round robin match on their way to retaining the Plate that they won last year ; Nigel Day ( F , 99-04 ) and his team came within a whisker of retaining Nevin Pot after their win in 2023 , but were pipped in the final . This year ’ s winners were newcomers to Nevin Pot and led by Damola Odeyemi ( Coll , 14-19 ). We look forward to seeing all these teams , and more , next year . The
capacity is 12 teams and we will gladly accept early bookings . Age-based handicaps will be considered again for 2025 , when Nevin Pot returns on Saturday 29 th March .

OW Win Co Fo Nevin Pot currently attracts the largest number of OW sportsmen to a single event . The first day of the Easter holidays showed Win Coll and its own brand of football at their finest ( between the hail storms ). Ten teams of Old Wykehamists , seasoned by a couple of non-OW players , produced an impressive display of Win . Co . Fo .
